6 Foolproof Tips for Boosting Sales


The more sales you record, the more profit you make, and the happier you are, right? Of course, that’s the joy of every entrepreneur.

Have you been maintaining a constant level of sales and would like to go higher? Or, are you not just satisfied with the number of sales you’ve been recording?

1. Tell customers about every product or service you offer

This tactic always works. Whenever customers come for a product or service you’re offering, don’t just discharge them after the deal. Instead, take your time to enlighten them on virtually every other product or service you offer. Let them know how each will be of help to them.

You’ll be surprised that most customers will end up buying more than they intended. Ordinarily, they won’t buy what they don’t know that they need. But if you make them realize how they need them, they’ll readily buy.

2. Offer bonuses and discount offers to loyal customers

Offering discounts as a way of attracting new customers may be unproductive. This is because, most likely your offer will be rushed at by “bonus hunters” who are only interested in cheap or bonus offers but never check back to buy at normal prices.

However, offering discounts to loyal customers will help you milk them for more cash. And, since they’ve been long-term customers, they won’t abscond when your prices go back to normal.

3. Intensify your marketing efforts

There’s no shortcut about this. The rule is very simple: to get more customers, market the more. So, never relent in your marketing efforts. The more you market, the more sales you’ll make from both new and existing customers.

And no, don’t ignore offline marketing if you’re running a physical business that is based offline. Therefore, if you offer your products and services in the “real” world, market in the “real” world.

4. Encourage referrals

Encouraging your customers to spread word of your business is another foolproof technique for boosting sales.

Customers are very productive marketers for any business. They’ve tested and trusted your business, and so, they’re in the best position to give testimonials about it.

You can offer incentives, such as saying, “for every new customer you bring to us, you’ll get…”

5. Always spy on competition

To get more sales, you must keep a close eye on competition. Look at what they’re doing to attract customers. Copy from them, any strategy that seems to work and even improve on it. Your aim here is to attract their customers to your business.

So, try as much as possible to “snatch” customers from the competition. With more customers to your side, you’ll surely make more sales.

6. Rebrand and repackage when necessary

Always improve on the quality of the products or services you offer. This requires constant brainstorming. Whenever a brilliant idea strikes you, experiment with it immediately to see if it works. If it does, implement it to your own advantage.

Brilliant innovations can improve your acceptability in market and can bring more customers to your business.

Though some of these tips may not apply to your business, the few that do will surely bring great results. Try them, and you’ll record more sales than before.

    1.Bonus, discounts and freebies really help loyal customers but it can also help in getting new customers as well.

    2.WOMM(Word of mouth) is the best marketing where you don’t need to spend a penny. You only need to work on point 2 of yours.

    3.Rebranding & repackaging really helps, it is more from hit and trial we do with our existing range to check which works best with us.

      Definitely I will work on my number 2 point and the next time an article of this subject is updated you’ll see changes.

      A good business owner needs to have the right and convincing words ( word of mouth) to tell his/her customers without putting too much effort, because its an essential skill in business. It makes customers come patronizing again and again.

    Hi Valentine – #1 is probably the best piece of advice for increasing sales. Though, not just sales for you own products.

    If you recommend other peoples products on your ‘thank you for ordering’ page, customers are just as likely to buy those products as they are to buy your own. I implemented this strategy on one of my sites and I was quite surprised at the near 6% conversion.

    I would also include ASKING for the sale. Make your personal plea short and sweet, but asking is key.
