As a result, it’s important your firm attempts to mitigate risk when it comes to employee illness, with a variety of measures implemented to improve hygiene standards across the board. Here are a few ways to get started …

Promote Proper Hand Washing

If you’re the type of person who flicks their mitts under water for a nanosecond after using the loo, it’s time to re-evaluate your hand washing habits and scrub those digits properly. Consequently, make sure your firm’s washroom services are up to scratch.

Additionally, be sure to dry your hands properly, whether that’s using a hand dryer or the old fashioned paper towel method, as wet mitts help bacteria to thrive, which is a situation you definitely want to avoid in a busy workplace.

Encourage Your Employees

With a large number of employees crammed into a relatively small space, it’s inevitable there’ll be a fair amount of messy desks and cross contamination going on – but by encouraging your employees to follow the hand washing principles above, you can begin to reduce absenteeism.

In fact, most workers will be willing to get on board, as it’s absolutely no fun snivelling at your desk due a bacterial infection that could’ve been avoided, so be sure to print off this advice and post it liberally around the premises.

Spring Clean the Workplace
